General Election-2024 makes everyone happy: Dr Birbal Jha

The Indian democracy, which is the largest one by electoral practice, is thriving. It is no longer in danger. Contrary claims were made by several opposition leaders throughout the election campaign. The results are out. The constitution is intact. Everyone has a reason to grin and smile. Some may clink glasses and say cheers.
The BJP, with its allies under the name of the National Democratic Alliance, is all set to form the government for the third consecutive term, which is historic, and is happy about having won 241 seats on its own, which is far more than the opposition’s combined total of 233.

Congress is pleased that it has improved its position from 55 in 2019 to 99 in 2024.
JDU, with its 12 wins, though it lost four seats against 16 in the 2019 election, is happy about returning to the fold of the NDA, which is to continue to rule.

RJD, which could not open its account in the 2019 election, has got four seats this time. So, it is on cloud nine.

TMC, which was projected to lose to the BJP, has been able to retain its position by winning 37 seats and unseating the BJP from 7 constituencies in West Bengal.

Shiv Sena, led by Udhav Thakrey, is happy about its position as it has gained a lion’s share of 21 seats in Maharashtra, though it has lost the party symbol to the breakaway group, which is Shiv Sena, led by CM Eknath Sindhe, who is also seen grinning with seven seats.

The Samajwadi Party, led by former Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav, is pleased to be considered as the third-largest party in Lok Sabha, with 37 seats, up from six in 2019.

Aam Adami (AAP) gaining three seats in the lower house of India for the first time is also happy, as its national convener, Arvind Kejriwal, has returned to Tihar Jail to save the democracy from tyranny, as he himself said.


The Election Commission of India is reported to be happy as no party has come forward to make an allegation against EVMs being rigged or hacked. A free and fair general election was held over six weeks though in scorching heat.

The citizens across the country are happy about their political affiliations, as each party, has got something or other.
